Modified Miranda Day Bag
Here is the completed Miranda Day Bag that I finished today and started last weekend in a sewing and embroidery retreat. It is a little larger than what I am use to and has pently of great pockets. The embroidery design is on both sides and the bag is quilted. The flowers are dimensional. I modified the bag by adding a zipper.

Butterfly Hanging Vase
Here is the Finshed Butterfly hanging vase that I completed in a Sewing and Embroidery Retreat this weekend. The butterflies are stitched on organza. The color does not show well on the vase but it is beautiful. Complete with butterfly spacer beads on the top ribbons and edges

Showman Wallhanging
I went to a Sewing and Machine Embroidery Retreat this weekend. Here is a finshed wallhanging that I made in class and finshed at home. I used my machine to attach buttons for the first time (had it for 5 years).
I had all buttons attached in under 10 minutes and it was effortless. I love the finged designs on this wallhanging as well.

Garage Sale Find
Today was a great day for going to garage sales. I found this lamp for $30. The shade is all stain glass. Also found a bunch of quilt magazines for .10 each and computer tower for 5.00. The computer tower is in the shop for diagnostics. If can get working will be a computer for crafting programs only.

Flower art quilt
I just got a floral instructional DVD from: http://www.quiltingarts.com/shop/QuiltingArtsWorkshopDVDs.html and wanted to try some of these techniques. I made a small mixed media art quilt from some sun dyed fabric that I had. The sun dying was done from a kit that I found at Micheals. The fabric was also stamped with a fern stamp. The flowers were created with bits of fibers and trims. Tulle was placed over flowers before quilting. See DVD for full instructions. I will also add some embroidered butterflies in the next couple of days.

Paper bag Book
This is my start at a paper bag book that I started a while ago and plan to finsh in the near future using some cricut cutouts as well as other techniques. This little book is truly mixed media. The binding of the book is actually cooper tape used to hold pipes, etc. The cover is covered with old pattern pieces and pattern envelope pieces. Old letter tiles, a knob are other elements used on the cover. Inside the journal quilting scrap pieces and embroidery "trials" are used for the pockets. The butterfly tag has a baby picture of me and is transferred to clay using tape transfer.

Knitted wire and beaded Necklace
Remember spool knitting: I walked into a local bead shop and found necklaces created with spool knitting and wire so I decided to try one. I completed it in one evening. First beads were strung on a roll of 26 teal craft wire and then knitted with the spool knitted every couple of stitches. I first started with only 1-2 bead every few stitches and ended the same way.

Cricut Pestle and Mortar
With many medical family members and friends I am always looking for medical elements for scrapbooking and other papercrafts. With Cricut Expression and Design Studio I decided to create one of my own and wanted to share the file. George and Walk in My Garden are the cartridges used. I just started with blogging and have many more ideas yet to come. http://www.mediafire.com/?girm0t1scjs

Felted good luck Fairy
Cricut Cat Card
This is one of the first projects that I made with my Cricut expression and Design Studio. It was a great learning experience and fun to create. I was a lot quicker than I expected it to be. It was made with Plantin Schoolbook and Animal Kingdom. The mouse, collar and fish elements to the card are stickers. Link to cut file for this card: http://www.mediafire.com/?rmejwmmljne
