Mermaid Story Book - Using Cricut

Here are some pages of the Story book that I made for my Niece this year who turned "6" on March 7th. The book was created using my Cricut and a 8 x 8 scrapbook. I mainly used the paperdoll cartridge for this as well as George. I was alot of fun to create and well worth the effort.

A search for the right paper was important to the over all look of the book.   A glittery paper was used for the coral.  Some fishes were accented with wiggle eyes.  Stickers were also used in the background to give more of a under sea look to the project.   Paper with a shine was used for the mermaid.  With this type of paper the scales showed up very well.  The under sea tunnel was created with a mountain from paper dolls and a piece of acetate was used in order to see into it.

Purse Entry

Recently I decided to enter a purse in a contest sponsered by Nancy's Notions. I completed this purse this past week and entered it into the contest. The purse had to be constucted from an specific pattern package. I choose to create my own crazy patch "butterfly" using Masterworks to digitalize it. It came out better than shown in this picture. I also quilted the fabric around the butterfly with a little flower design created from Masterworks. The handle loops are also stitched down with an appliqued flower that is 3 D and created in Masterworks than stittched down. I can't wait to see how I do in the contest.

Modified Miranda Day Bag

Here is the completed Miranda Day Bag that I finished today and started last weekend in a sewing and embroidery retreat. It is a little larger than what I am use to and has pently of great pockets. The embroidery design is on both sides and the bag is quilted. The flowers are dimensional. I modified the bag by adding a zipper.

Butterfly Hanging Vase

Here is the Finshed Butterfly hanging vase that I completed in a Sewing and Embroidery Retreat this weekend.  The butterflies are stitched on organza.  The color does not show well on the vase but it is beautiful.  Complete with butterfly spacer beads on the top ribbons and edges

Showman Wallhanging

I went to a Sewing and Machine Embroidery Retreat this weekend. Here is a finshed wallhanging that I made in class and finshed at home. I used my machine to attach buttons for the first time (had it for 5 years).
I had all buttons attached in under 10 minutes and it was effortless. I love the finged designs on this wallhanging as well.
